Notes:
This Victorian, two-storey, red brick residence dates to the 1870s. B.R. Mowry was the original owner and it was his iron foundry just north of the town’s main intersection which was the source of the Great Fire of 1887. The home was later owned by the McJannet family who operated a department store at the northwest corner of Muskoka Road and Hotchkiss Streets. Subsequently there were several caring owners such as the Easts (operators of Muskoka Sands aka Taboo Resort) before the Westovers renovated it sympathetically to become a bed and breakfast operation.
