The Community Centre is operated by the Town of Huntsville, is listed on the Heritage Register, but the date of construction is not known. It appears to have been built in two phases, with the larger wing built first.
The Port Sydney Community Centre is a two storey, rectangular plan, wood frame construction with a front gable roof, board and batten siding, a concrete foundation, paired flat-headed twelve pane windows in two columns on the second storey of the northeast and southwest elevations, a two storey verandah on most of the northeast elevation, and two double door entrances to the second storey of the verandah (one offset to the southeast side and one offset to the northwest side) on the northeast elevation. The first storey of the northeast elevation has a central single door
entrance, a rectangular sliding window just northwest of the entrance, and two sets of paired flat-headed four-over-four windows on the northwest side of the elevation. The southeast elevation has a one storey projecting bay with a saltbox roof, board and batten siding, a concrete foundation, a small rectangular window offset to the northwest side of the northeast elevation, and a central double door entrance with a gabled porch with sqaure postson the southeast elevation.
