Notes:
Originally known as Vernon House, the Bayview Hotel was built in 1890 to serve the needs of travellers coming and going from the nearby steamship and railway station passenger exchange. It has had a more recent history as a bar and performance space.
A 2-1/2 storey brick construction with an asphalt shingled mansard roof finished in with 3 peaked gable dormers. A centre hall plan with central entrance balanced by two large commercial scale windows on the ground floor and five double hung windows on the second floor. On the side elevation is a second entrance door, possibly to a bar or former restaurant. The glazing pattern of regularly spaced double hung windows extends to the sides, presumably reflecting the internal arrangement of hotel rooms.
