Notes:
Port Carling was once the centre of a flourishing boat building industry, and Duke Marine carries on from those days. Charles Duke moved his business here in 1924. The shop built rowboats, launches, and produced minesweepers during the Second World War. Visitors can view antique boat restorations in progress.
The simple handsome frame vernacular buildings, with whitepainted cove siding, wide openings for boat passage are landmarks in Port Carling. From time to time different parts of the building have been rented out to other businesses such as cafe's and coffee houses.
